What To Do In Whistler During the Holidays

Despite the changes that Covid has brought on this year, Whistler is still a winter wonderland. In lieu of long-distance travel, many of us are sticking to activities that can be done close to home (or, inside one’s home). As such, we have compiled a list of activities that you can do in Whistler this holiday season while being covid-safe. The following information is valid as of December 2, 2020.

Self-guided Tours

Get in the Christmas cheer and take a snowy stroll through Whistler Village to marvel at the dazzling light decorations that make you feel like you’ve walked into a scene from a Dr. Seuss book.

If you’re looking for breathtaking mountain views, bundle up and ride the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. And don’t forget to grab tickets for the Vallea Lumina light show –– it will be self-drive only, but the magic remains the same.

On the Mountain

For the snowboarders and skiers looking to cruise, both Whistler Mountain and Blacktop Mountain are open as of November 26, 2020, with enhanced safety protocols such as mandatory face coverings and a reservation system to manage capacity.

Other Snow Adventures

A fantastic option for both adults and kids alike is the Whistler Olympic Plaza in Whistler Village –– skate to your heart’s pleasure, surrounded by twinkling lights and endless snow vistas. Other activities include snowmobile and snowshoe tours, as well as snow tubing at Bubly Tube Park (set to open on December 12).

Check out the snow-cleared Valley Trail which links Whistler neighborhoods, lakes, rivers, and creeks. It consists both of paved and unpaved trails so ensure to bundle up and wear appropriate footwear.

And if you’re seeking to get a heart-pumping workout in, consider snowshoeing one of the many trails that abound the area such as Brandywine Falls, Alexander Falls in Whistler Olympic Park, and the various trails in the Cheakamus area. But before you step outside, double-check that you have the proper gear!

The Arts

Spend an afternoon admiring the permanent collection of British Columbia artwork and rotating exhibitions at Audain Art Museum. And for the history-junkies, visit the Whistler Museum and Archives for all your mountain life interests.

Cannabis Delivery

Maybe staying home, watching Netflix, and consuming baked treats sounds like the perfect day. Hit up Weed Delivery Services for all your cannabis needs such as flower, edibles, CBD products, and more. Order online and have all your favourite cannabis treats delivered right to your doorstep.

Although lockdown has given many folks major FOMO this year, you can still take advantage of the activities Whistler has to offer while following health protocols and try something new while you’re at it!
